June 24, 2022
Happily, it appears that our country slowly is coming out from under the shadow that was cast by Covid upon our normal day-to-day activities. Certainly concerns continue, and we all must remain cautious and vigilant; but that long awaited “light at the end of the tunnel “ appears to be visible and we all look forward to a return to life as it should be.
As the summer of 2022 begins, let us all take some time and remember those among us who truly have suffered serious and devastating losses and hardships as a result of the pandemic. They need our compassion, our support, and our friendship. Brotherly love never has been more relevant.
But, as the pandemic seems to be easing its grip, I want to take this opportunity to thank each of you for your cooperation, your support, and your understanding as all of us have worked together to keep our Scottish Rite functioning; to keep our members and families safe and healthy; and to be prepared for us all to move forward, cautiously and when the time is right, to a future that is brighter than ever.
Without a doubt, it has been a difficult and frustrating few years; but it also has been a time for innovation, imagination, and continued brotherhood. Many Valleys have presented very effective and enjoyable Zoom presentations. Brethren across our country and beyond have joined in and participated in these. Educational presentations have never been better. We all have, in some sense, become closer than ever before.
So, at this time, I wish each of you a very happy Canada Day and a safe and enjoyable summer. Our Valleys are springing back to life in-person. Let us all hope and pray that Covid continues to recede and that we soon will be back together, resuming our traditional activities, adding in our newfound communication abilities, and taking joy in life as Scottish Rite Masons.
Ill. Bro. Robert S. Whitmore, 33°
